All of a sudden a redundant icon has appeared in my menu bar - indicating that it should measure the up- and download speeds of my internet connection. (it's the two lines in red and green reading 0 B/s on the attached image).
I do use iStat Menus to measure my bandwidth but since this new icon appeared I have disabled iStat and removed it from the menu bar.
I cannot locate the program that is making this new icon appear. Also, the icon is not indicating any measurement of bandwidth nor when I click on it does any subsequent menu drop down or appear elsewhere.
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks. It turns out to be something annoying thrown up by an update I just had to VirusBarrier X6
