I also highly recommend Bookends. I have been using it for at least a decade with no complaints.

From personal experience, Endnote functions very well, has an app for MacOS and iOS that syncs between and integrates very well in Word.
The only negative is that on the Mac it can be slower when working in Endnote itself with a lot of references (compared to Windows). Not noticable when using Word when citing.
Also, current Endnote app is 32 bit and no news on a 64 bit version yet.
However, when reading reviews online, most alternatives have their problems as well.
