Reformat OS X

Do I need a special usb cable for the usb drive? Or do I shove that small usb into the usb port? thanks.

It is just like any regular USB flash memory thumb drive, thus you plug it into one of the free USB ports.

You just plug it in...there are detailed instructions at the top of the main page on the steps required to do a clean install, I used them to pull off un-needed files.
