Reformatting drives

In preparing my mac for sale 2012 mac mini with 500GB HDD and 275GB SSD running Mojave, I erased both drives (APFS) and installed Maverics as Mojave would not install. For some reason the two drives are now showing as just one partition of 775GB. Even if I erase again it still shows one partition could someone help.

I can see with drives when I verify as disk0s2+disk1s2

Perhaps you created a single APFS container?

Yes looks like it made a Fusion drive without me realising, looks like I have fixed it now following this procedure outlined here. https://www.lifewire.com/split-fusion-drive-apart-2260166. Many thanks
