I'm upgrading my HDD in my MacBook (black, 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM, 10.6) and using the opportunity to start fresh. What I don't want to do is use the option of the SL installer to migrate my data back from my Time Machine backup that I keep, but instead I want to transfer some of the data manually (i.e. some docs, photos) whilst starting other things completely anew (e.g. installing applications).

My question is whether there would be a problem accessing my back up after the reinstall takes place, given that it would no longer be the 'same' system in Time Machine's eyes. Is there likely to be permissions problems when copying data over to the 'new' hdd? I'd be using the same account name once I reinstall.

Thanks in advance for any help.
