After purchasing an 8 plus (with applecare+), I requested an express replacement for a bad screen.

Do I still have the option to return original phone and the replacement phone and receive a complete refund?

I would hope the answer is yes, and the refund would be for the full price of phone plus applecare.

Apple have asked me to wait until the replacement arrives before telling me the answer to the above question (!)

Whenever I got a free replacement because of a defect, AppleCare+ was "transferred" to the replacement phone.

Yes, I would expect this. However, is the refund option still available after opting for a replacement and deciding the replacement is also defective? If so, the refund should include the cost of applecare?

If you are not returning the identical phone (matching serial #) to the one you purchase, I world think you won’t be able to.

I think you should be able to return both of them as long as you are in the 14 day return period. Probably the AppleCare too.

Yes, this is what I'm hoping!
Basically the reason is, it looks like there is a possibility of the problem with the clicking noise on phone calls being a hardware problem. If, after receiving the replacement it's still an issue, I would like to opt to wait a few months until a fix is found rather than waste both mine and Apple's time.

Return it as the replacement will be the same. I know sadly

Outside of 14 you can return AC+ anytime abdget refunded portion remaining. Great if you trade in or sell your phone. I just got $87 Apple Gift Card from this.

What do you think will happen? Apple will keep your money after you return it? If you return both phones obviously you will get all your money refunded as long as it's within the 14 days.

Ok, so I rang apple and requested the refund. It was DENIED.

According to Apple, after receiving a refurb express replacement, your right to refund is no longer available.

I am in dispute with Apple currently. I believe that under UK consumer laws and EU distance selling regulations, I should be able to return the refurb for a full refund of the original order.

I will update this post when I hear back tomorrow.
