is it true that if i buy a refurb'd MBA from apple that i can extend the 1 year warranty anytime during the first year?

because im currently short on funds and want to buy the refurb model because of huge price drops.
i really dont care for the new models because for me its just purely for word processing and internet.

thanks for your time

You can buy AppleCare within 1 year of purchase date.

"Every Mac comes with complimentary telephone technical support within 90 days of your Mac purchase and a one-year limited warranty. With the AppleCare Protection Plan, you can extend your service coverage to three years from the computer's purchase date."

wow thank you.
also from what iv'e read, the newer mba has shorter battery life.
so buying the older one seems so much better to me.
is this true?
