Refurb MBPr inventory

Most of the late 2013 MBPr stock has dried up in the refurb store. Normal behavior or is something on the near horizon?
 
It comes and goes. I was looking for a while before pulling the trigger. Saw it depleted and come back with some regularity.
 
I have seen the complete opposite on the Australian refurb store, I have seen over 20 new items added in the last day or two...

could be Apple clearing out old stock before releasing new shiny things?
