I have been looking at getting a new SR 17" Hi-Res MBP for some time now. There are some in the refurb store:
17-inch high-resolution widescreen display
2GB memory
160GB hard drive; 7200 rpm
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera
for $2600 + tax ($2750).
I also have been looking at getting the student ADC membership and purchasing the MBP through that store. That price configured the same (+ADC member cost) as the refurb is $2550 + tax ($2700).
I think I would rather go for the refurb since as a student ADC member you only get one hardware discount, but I haven't dealt with refurbs before.
I just want people's thoughts on my situation and if they think the $50 difference is worth it to get a new vs. refurb.
