I've just purchased my 2nd mini refurb from the Apple Store online. One about 2 years ago and this one just last week (arrived today). I waited for weeks to get the 2.66 model (I know the server version is a better deal, but needed the cd). Anyway, I always hope for that little surprise of a free 'upgrade' but did not think it happened this time either. I had already purchased an 8gb upgrade and upon unboxing I opened up the bottom of the mini and it had the standard 2gb  . I installed the 8gb and proceeded to set up the system. Once I was done with my app installation I checked to see how much space I used. Wohoo! I had over 400GB free!! My mini came with a 500Gb hard drive!!

I had actually purchased a new 500GB, 7200rpm drive for this one. I just got done installing a SSD in my other aluminum mini and boy, what a pain that was! Upgrading the hard drive in an aluminum mini is a royal pain in the butt and very easy to 'break' something.

I decided to 'live' with the 320GB and 5400 rpm for this mini so thank your Apple for the little xmas gift and saving me the frustration of upgrading the hard drive on this one. :D

I got 4GB RAM instead of 2GB as listed in the refurb's description. I ultimately returned the refurb and stuck with my original 2010 mini.

When I bought my i7 iMac refurb earlier this year it came with a 2 TB HDD instead of 1 TB. Even better value!!
