Apple today added refurbished 12.9-inch iPad Pro models to its online store for refurbished products, 10 months after the tablet first became available for purchase.

There is not yet a dedicated section for the iPad Pro in the refurbished store, but iPad Pro models can be seen on the main iPad page by scrolling to the bottom of the site, as was first noticed by iPhone in Canada.

Apple is offering a range of 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, all of which are available at a 14 to 15 percent discount. For the entry-level 32GB model, the discount drops the price from $799 to $679, a savings of $120.

Apple's refurbished prices quite don't match some of the lowest prices we've seen from third-party retailers who occasionally offer the 12.9-inch iPad Pro at a discount, but it's close.

Both Wi-Fi and cellular models are available in multiple colors and in 32 and 128GB capacities. Apple is not offering refurbished 9.7-inch iPad Pro models which have only been available for purchase since March.

Apple's refurbished inventory fluctuates on a regular basis based on available supply, so models that are available today may not be available tomorrow. All of Apple's refurbished products are tested, certified, and come with a one-year warranty.

Pfft...I picked up the 32 GB 9.7" iPad Pro cellular model in mint condition for $525 on Swappa. Very pleased with that price. $679 for the 32 GB 12.9" Wi-Fi only model still seems too high; but I guess people are buying them even at $799 so who am I to judge?

Two weeks ago Best Buy had all iPad Pro for $100 off. Then I used $100 off student coupon and got a 9.7" 128 GB model for $550. The student coupon did not require edu proof.

I know that the iPad isn't "ripe" for an update, but the Mini is still running an A8, and I can't see the iPad Pro being slower than an iPhone so I think we'll get new iPads this fall too!

apple watch should follow suit

I once thought that it was supply that was preventing the Apple Watch from appearing in the refurb store, but I think it's politics. I don't think we'll see them until after the allure of the second generation watch wears off.

I did that but returned it because I felt like after trying the bigger screen it was harder go back lol. But 9.7 is perfect for most people :) wish the student discount worked for the 12.9.

I see where you're coming from but I really doubt it. Maybe the mini and 12.9 pro might get updates but the 9.7 pro and Air 2 definitely won't.

Looks like US only. Cheaper refurbs are needed outside US also.

$120 off for a refurb? That's not enough of a discount to get me interested. Can't beat $150 off for NEW at Staples and Best Buy when they're on sale. Even if we never see $150 off again (we will), $100 off is even more frequent.
