I think i'd trust the refurbs. I've heard decent things and i've heard not so decent things, but thats the same as the new MBP. Personally, I'd take that guys offer to buy his pimped out MBP. That's a sweet deal and your guarenteed no whine or major problems.

Alright, i got some awesome news for ya all.. I was browsing thru local Craigslist this morning and noticed this Macbook pro listing..the guy said it was 2 months old, basic config, no whining or heating problem, asking for $1700 CDN.. I was like this can't be true.. why would somebody sell it for so cheap? lols... Called up the guy for a verbal chat.. he felt legit... he said he bought a quad G5 Powermac for video editing so selling off his US bought macbook pro w/ receipt/box, etc...
I hurriedly listed my iMac on craigslist.. found a buyer by evening.. sold it for $200 loss (1 month old only)..called the macbook pro guy and got the mbp 😛. It all happened so quick.. i thought i was day dreaming 😀 ....So i'm a macbook pro owner now.. Upgraded the ram to 1.5Gb, no whining or heating.. idling(charging off adapter) @ 60C according to Coreduotemp app(Is that hot?)
