I agree with this - Apple refurbished used to be a good deal. Now it's just lousy, and chances are the product will be discontinued from support that much sooner.Current refurbished discount is a scam. In fact, many times, the Amazon/Costco etc discount is cheaper than Apple Refurbished, and you get 100% a new product, ridiculous.
I picked up a 2023 Mini for $499 out the door price recently. If a bare bones M2 mini falls to $469 like the M1 is currently, that might be an instant buy for me.
We never really get those deals in Canada, so yeah... 10% is better than nothing even if it's not the 15% it was before.Current refurbished discount is a scam. In fact, many times, the Amazon/Costco etc discount is cheaper than Apple Refurbished, and you get 100% a new product, ridiculous.
Yes, but so far there is no refurbished cloth available. Can ya buy just the polishing cloth without the Mac included?
Is that a Canadian thing? I know (in the U.S.) Chase credit cards and AmEx (and others too) cover refurbished items. We never really get those deals in Canada, so yeah... 10% is better than nothing even if it's not the 15% it was before.
But buying refurbished also makes people ineligible to extended warranty programs on credit cards.
The real deals on the refurb store and the BTO models. You never see those discounted anywhere else. 24 / 512 M2 mini will never be discounted anywhere but the refurb store.I feel like you get better deals on Amazon or BH Photo.
Hmmm I know with my MasterCard in Canada I am not eligible, it said so in the terms and conditions. Is that a Canadian thing? I know (in the U.S.) Chase credit cards and AmEx (and others too) cover refurbished items.
Nonsense. M2 has tens of thousands more Apple engineering hours in it. 2021 is not a better box, no matter what some Utube bimbo claims.Still think the 2021 might be the better choice with the larger heat sink. I think some YouTuber guy did a comparison and found the speed increase is negligible compared to all the areas that costs were cut. Wish I had that link.
May I ask where? Costco had it the cheapest, but that was still $579…I picked up a 2023 Mini for $499 out the door price recently.
That's not true with military/vet discount. The 10% vet discount is in addition the refurb. A nice benefit, indeed! There's no stacking education discount on refurbs. I just checked on 2022 13" MBA with M2.
Through Education site: $1,079.00 ; Save $20.00 from $1,099.00
Education pricing.May I ask where? Costco had it the cheapest, but that was still $579…
Are you looking at the U.S. site? If yes, try closing the "Models" filter option and opening the "Release Year" filter to see it.I don’t see a grayed out 2023 on the refurb site.
Nah - the Macs will be full price, but you'll have the option of purchasing a discounted polishing cloth as part of a bundle.Soon they will be full price but with the Apple polishing cloth included![]()

Yes I’m on the U.S. site. Closed all filters except the year and it doesn’t show it.Are you looking at the U.S. site? If yes, try closing the "Models" filter option and opening the "Release Year" filter to see it.
