Apple today added refurbished Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2 models to its online store in the United States, offering the latest Apple Watches at a discounted price for the first time.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is available starting at $339 for the 41mm GPS model, which is $60 off of the original price. The 45mm GPS model is priced at $359, a $70 discount off of the original price, and the total available discount goes up to $80 for the highest-end 45mm option.

The Apple Watch SE is available starting at $209 for the 40mm GPS model and $239 for the 44mm GPS model, with slightly higher prices for cellular connectivity.

Apple has a range of discounted Apple Watch Series 8 and SE 2 models for sale, in both GPS only and GPS + Cellular configurations. At the current time, Apple is only offering the aluminum Apple Watch Series 8 models, and there is no sign of a refurbished Apple Watch Ultra.

The Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2 models initially came out in September 2022, alongside the iPhone 14 models and the Apple Watch Ultra.

As with all refurbished products, available stock will fluctuate over time as Apple refreshes what is available, so you may need to check back often if you're looking for a specific color or size.

According to Apple, all refurbished Apple Watch models go through a rigorous refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. Refurbishment includes testing, replacement for any defective parts, inspections, cleaning, and repackaging.

All refurbished products are covered by the same one-year warranty that is applicable to new products, with the warranty able to be extended with AppleCare+.

I got my Series 8 new in February with £50 off at John Lewis, so shop around before looking at Apples refurb store as I was thinking of a refurb model till I saw that deal.

Personally, I don’t understand why people buy refurbs from Apple when better deals are often found for new at other retailers on sale. Honestly, even if it wasn’t cheaper, I’d rather pay $30 more for not-used. But that’s me. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Here in the UK that is true apart from when it comes to Macs as they rarely go on sale. Although I got a killer deal on my refurbished iPhone 13 Pro having said that.

Damn, I lost mine of vacation and literally got a new one this week. Not worth the hassle to return and repurchase.

Costco is the place to buy Macs. You just need to pay £15 for online membership. Some prices beat the 10% student discount.

Be aware that refurbished Watches do not get a new battery.
Really? That's terrible, if true! I assumed an authentic Apple refurbished product would get a new battery as well as any case parts needed to fix cosmetic imperfections. That's the way they used to do things, and was the only reason I'd tell people not to ever buy refurbished Apple products from any third party. (Most just wiped the stuff down with cleaning wipes, made sure it still powered on ok, and flipped it as refurbished -- scratch marks and dents and all.)

Since all refurbished products come with new warranty and option to purchase AppleCare. Plus easy returns seems to be much ado about nothing.

A lot of times it is because the Apple device comes with the same warranty, great service, and option for AppleCare+.

Got a source for that? AFAIK, all Apple refurbished get new batteries. The refurbished Apple Watch I bought from Apple has 100% battery health.

That doesn't necessarily mean it won't have a new battery though, just by default it doesn't. According to the website, it says: You will receive a refurbished device with genuine Apple replacement parts (as needed) that has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

So it could come with a new battery if they deem it needs it. I personally have not come across any reports of a refurbished from Apple that came with anything lower than 100% battery health so probably not an issue to be concerned about.

Just got mine last week at £379 from John Lewis (45mm GPS). Which is the same as the newly-available refurb 8 in Apple in UK.
