Refurbished Device Manufacture Week

Hi

Anyone know if the week number embedded in the serial of a refurb device represents the week the device was originally built, or when it was refurbished/assigned a new serial?

To my knowledge, the serial stays the same, but the model number changes after being refurbished. I could be wrong though.

Its build day, I don't think they track any sort of details on refurbished dates - at least not encoded in the serial number.

Ah cool. Means my refurb 2014 13" i5/16GB/1TB arriving on Monday is only a couple of weeks old (week 49)
