Truly smart people make enough money to buy what they want when they want it. ;)

I went from iPad 3 to iPad Air and was blown away so you're in for a real treat. It's a huge leap.
It's a thinner and a bit faster, how is that a huge leap.

That seems as if it took a while.

They didn't have people returning them like crazy. Tends to happen to a mature product that does not change a whole lot. Almost everyone in the tech game knows what to expect from this product.

Smart people always buy refurbished Macs, iPads and Apple TVs, and the 'S' model of the iPhones.

Why do smart people always buy the 'S' model? For example, I wanted a larger screen, bought the 6 Plus as soon as it came out, so now I have one. If I had waited for the 'S' model, I would have been without what I wanted for a year. What's smart about that?

When will this dumb fad die off. Such a pathetic device making us more inefficient.

this is great to see; however, it has been a bit too long for me. At this point, i am willing to wait few more months to see what a new air 3 is going to look like. If the Air 3 is a minor upgrade, I will happily rap refurb Air 2 for even less - my wife could really use a new iPad.

Said everyone when faced with technology.

"Uga, that fire thing is a waste of time. Raw meat and plants is where it's at. Losers."

If you feel iPads are a technological advancement over x86/64 machines running OSX/Windows/Linux, I will not be able to convince you otherwise.

iPad's are a gimmick, and the declining sales numbers make my case. We have all invested so much into buying all those crappy simplified apps which should be web based anyways. Apple truly took us a step back instead of forward, it literally drove thousands upon thousands of potential brilliant developers to concentrate on fart apps instead of sophisticated/complex problem solving applications.

Peace

Sales happen bi-weekly at various retailers that discount brand new iPads even further than Apple's refurbished store does.

I got an open box iPad Mini 3 for $187 (plus tax) @ Best Buy. It's condition was basically flawless and had 10 months left on the warranty. I think that's what "smart" people do.

Shouldn't you have had the normal one year warranty even though it was an open box purchase?

I don't see what is smart about buying a phone knowing it came only with 1 GB RAM and suffering constant app crashes and Safari tab reloads for a year.

Thanks for mentioning this, I researched this situation on Apple forums and there is a 50/50 mix of people of getting Apple to extend the warranty. It is only 2 months so I won't bother with it, but from what I understand, coverage date starts on original setup of the iPad.

Right, because I'm sure the fart app guys are the best and brightest in the app developer world.

I love the iPad because I don't want the weight, heat, and limited battery life of a laptop. So tell me again why I should give a rats ass about your x86 machines.

I also bought an open box iPad Air 2 from BB. I just checked my original receipt and my online device support profile and it shows one year coverage. I don't know how long it was held by the original owner, BB guy said a couple of days, but I didn't do anything special with Apple other than setup and registration.

lol... TROLL alert... good luck in getting your attention

as with all of Apple's refurbished products, the iPad Air 2 models come with a full 1-year warranty, a new battery, and a new outer shell.

iPads come with a new battery and outer shell, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to "all of Apple's refurbished products" (eg MacBook Pro).

Stand by for the iPad Pro.

"You got chocolate in my peanut butter! Chocolate! Peanut Butter! Chocolate! Peanut Butter!"

Stand by for the iPad Pro.

I can't argue for anyone else wanting an iPad but for me, it's an almost perfect gadget. The rumored Pro on the other hand is a no go for me... once the iPad surpasses its 9.7" screen size its no longer a device aimed at me.

The reason I carry around my iPad Air 2 is because its so much more portable and convenient than my 13" MBP.

A 12" iPad Pro? no matter how powerful it is... I'll pass thank you:D

Apple can't sell iPads due to:

1) People don't upgrade these as often as iPhones

2) The price is out of reach for most people. It's about $100 too high. Carriers won't let you subsidize these or make monthly payments on them, so that initial $550 after tax is hard to swallow for alot of people.

All my Macs have been used except for my 2007 20" iMac. I bought that one new, but I bought it in 2008 so I got $100 off. All my iPhones I buy new, I upgrade every year by rotating the upgrades on my lines and I always sell my iPhone for $100 more than I paid for them.

Smart people know how to get a discount on Apple products without waiting months to find them in the refurb section.

If you waited this long to get an iPad Air 2, to save 10-15%..... I would say tight, not smart.

I have a feeling these refurbs were previously store demo units.

I'd doubt that, those models cope quite some abuse, I doubt apple would pawn those off as refurbished. Unless they replace the cases.
