Hi all-

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on when we will see refurbished Air 2 models in the refurbished store? Seems like they should be here soon but haven't seen any news/info about it.

Also, what price do you think theyll be?

THANks!

The sooner the better.

I'm not sure about that, people are not buying more and more tablets. I bought mine last year though still tablet sales are not comparable to the iphone ones.

I have one on the marketplace right now :)

You can get a brand new 64GB Air 2 for around $439 at Staples if the store has them in stock and are willing to price match their online price. That will be a much better price than an refurbed Air 2.

ALL current gen refurbs are usually discounted between 15-16%. So with a 16GB Air 2 you'll be looking at around $425 plus tax.

For those in the UK, you can also get the iPad Air 2 from rakuten.co.uk, from the 'PixelElectronics' seller with 15% off their already good prices. I bought the 16GB for £310 yesterday, with £21 cashback via quidco.com - much cheaper than the refurb price is likely to be

I wouldn't buy a refurbished ipad, while cosmetically it might be nice, there usually will be some type of issue with overheating or wifi connections.

If it is refurbished by Apple I don't see why there would be any horrible issue with it. Every unit they get has the malfunction fixed, new case, new battery, come with the standard 1 year warranty, and gets more thoroughly tested than those off the factory floor. In all honesty the Apple refurbs seem to come along with more consumer confidence than the new models. Now, if it's refurbished by a third party YMMV. I have a reformed 2012 rMBP, and have been using it for almost 2 years now with no issues whatsoever. Hell, my laptop came with 16GB of RAM instead of the 8GB it was advertised with; so with a refurb you might get a free upgrade too (although highly unlikely).

I hope they come up soon, but it seems a lot of people are happy with their Air 2s, and I don't even know if Apple has acquired enough backstock for their replacement inventory yet. At the very latest they will show up when the Air 3 comes out, I would guess that they start to appear around late May through early June; but that is pure guesswork. As for the price? I would guess they would be about 15% off, which is the current discount for the lowest end iPad Air.

I went and looked for when the first generation iPad Air was first releasted in the refurbished store, and it was March 2014. The Air 2 is about a month past that point, so I would say any week now.

I bought two refurbed iPads direct from Apple (1 iPad 1st Gen, 1 iPad 2) and the only issue with one was that it had a light leak issue (common with early iPad 2s). Otherwise, they were both reliable devices and are what introduced me to the iPad line.

Ditto. Every refurbished device we've bought from Apple has been excellent and we wouldn't have known the difference from new if it hadn't been sold as refurbished. Great deals on refurbs! :D

Same here. Not a huge experience of buying refurbished, but one iPad Mini and on Airport Express. Not the slightest issue with either product after several years of use.

How did you get it for £310. The 16gb from pixel electronics is showing as £365 to me.

For £310 I'd take a chance but for £365 I may as well just pay the extra £35 and get it direct from Apple.

And quidco is only showing 3.5% cash back On rakuten purchases and even at £365 that's only £12 ish

While Apple refurbs are top notch (my last two Macbooks were refurbs) I'm not sure what you guys are waiting for.

There are discounts for new models at retailers today. After discounts, the refurb isn't going to be much cheaper if at all.
