Hey guys,

Just got my refurbished 32 GB iPhone 4 from AT&T-- it is brilliant. I see no cosmetic faults, and it is shiny and beautiful. I can't even believe someone else has owned this. It also came with the normally-Apple packaged stickers, cords and earbuds. Though I can't seem to find the SIM removal tool.

Better yet? It has 4.0.1! Jailbreakme.com, here I come.

Factory and week, please?;)

My cynical side says that if $50 will make or break you, perhaps you shouldn't be buying an iPhone (or any smartphone at that).

My defensive side says I'm strapped from spending the summer in Europe (for research) on what was only half of my normal graduate stipend and that any penny-pinching I'm now doing is pretty short-term. ;). I've had an iPhone for two years before this without a problem. And it looks like my monthly bill is now only 60 instead of the previous 85. Wonder why this Premier discount didn't kick in for the last contract?

To the other poster, how do I discern the date and make numbers?

I wonder anyone knows how good refurbished iphone from at&t.
Is this the same like refurbished mac or not. I want to order iphone from at&t website and there is the refurbished model for $50 less.

AT&T refurb is how I attained my 1st iPhone 3G. It was brand spanking mint, no detectable scratches.

Just because $50 is a big difference on a purchase doesn't mean that you shouldn't be buying a smartphone. I have no problem paying my $78 to AT&T per month for my iPhone, but I had to take some time to look over the financial viability of spending an EXTRA $199 to upgrade from my 3G to an iPhone 4 in July. If I had been able to get it for $149 then it would have made my decision easier. Likewise, $299 for the 32GB model was out of my price range, but I might have considered $249. Everyone has their breaking points based on their personal budget and lifestyle and I don't really think it's fair for you to judge others based on yours.

I got my 3Gs last year from ATT Refurb for $50 on Black Friday. It was in perfect condition. Might want to wait and see if they do it again this year for the iPhone 4 ..

AT&T Refurbished are not the same as Apple Refurbished.

AT&T just sells you a previously used iPhone that has been returned for whatever reason, and they just 'Erase All Content and Settings' directly from the phone settings and turns around an sells it to you at a refurbished price.

People have been known to receive phones with scratches, scuff, dents. You may get lucky and get a good-as-new iPhone, but its a gamble.

Also, you only get 90 days limited warranty (Not 1 Year) and no option to buy Apple Care.

You save $50, but I'm not sure if its worth it, considering how much you give up.

I have had multiple refurb'd phones from AT&T before and every single one of them was like brand new. If you put the phone I had received in a oem box, you'd never know. Everything was mint, stickers over the screen and all. If the casing is scuffed or scratched, they replace it before sending it out...there's no way they would send a damaged phone to you.

The 90 day warranty is true but in the past, i've gotten replacements beyond the 90 days...just depends who you talk to at at&t.

But I do agree....is $50 really worth it?

Thanks guys.
Do you think if I buy refurb. iphone and it comes with some problems like scratches, can I go to apple store to exchange for a new one.

You won't get a damaged device..I can assure you. If you have issues, i'd go directly to an at&t corporate store and show them. Or call cust service right away...they'll get you taken care of.

i think its 90 days now, if im not mistaken. Could be wrong...

Yep, it's 90 days.
