I'm curious do Apple or AT&T carry refurbished iPhones in store? If so how do I check which store has some? Without calling the store since I live in Canada.

From what I see, Refurb iPhones are only in US Northeast Corp. stores. That's where I picked mine up. Your best bet is from their website.
You need to contact them one way or another. And you can add AppleCare. It isn't included. They do have a 1 year limited warranty and if you want one more year, then you buy AppleCare which is like $69.
