$20 off is not worth getting someone else's return.

I mostly posted this as bestbuy actually has some in stock (new ones as well) and for those with gift cards or rewards to use there. Also note that best buy charges $449 for "unactivated" SE's so the refurbed ones would be a bigger savings.

I'd take $20 any day. You can always return it if you're unhappy. Great tip!

Not if it meant giving up the 14 day trial period.

IOW, I'd rather pay Apple the full price of the phone instead of getting $20 off at Bestbuy.

Will Best Buy not take back refurb phones? Afaik they have 14 day returns as well. Wife's asleep else I'd ask her lol.

Edit: they'll take it back. So they have the same return policy as Apple does.

Couple that with potential reward zone points and you're saving more than that. I see no benefit buying direct from Spple, but to each his own.

I got the impression that was not the case, or if they did, you might had to pay a restocking or other fee.

I'm not 100% sold on that.

Does your wife work there?

Yes. She's a manager. There's no restocking fee and 14 day returns on all devices. The only stipulation is that it's the customers responsibility to make sure all contracts are cancelled after a return (they should cancel automatically but Best But doesn't want to be on the hook if something on the carrier's end doesn't work as advertised), though very few people deal with contracts anymore.

I'll file that away then...thanks.

I told them that I had heard that Walmart was doing $100.00 off, and I wanted to buy it outright.

They didn't even check with Walmart, but I hang out there often too.

Nice...a little surprised that bestbuy would do that without proof and without more cajoling...that $100 off!

Not as surprised as I was! But that convinced me to buy my first iPhone.
[doublepost=1465338194][/doublepost]Maybe they already knew BB was going to offer that?

It boggles my mind that a product that's been out of stock new for the longest is already showing up on shelves as refurbished.

perhaps some people had a 6 or 6s and thought they wanted to go back to a slightly smaller phone but regretted it and returned it.
