I bought a refurbished 4GB iPhone for $199 plus tax at the AT&T store on 86th btw 2/3rd this morning around 11am. They didn't have 8GB in stock and said this price was for new customers only (though I haven't made a contract with anyone yet).

A few questions for you:
- What's the condition of the phone (basically new, some dings, etc.)?
- Did it come with all original packaging/accessories?
- Did they mention the length of the warranty?
Thanks for the answers if you have the time. I called AT&T today, and it seems I'm out of luck in Dallas. They also said the warranty on these phones was only 30 days. Curious to know if that is correct or not.
Anyone see any of these pop up in the midwest. I'm in Madison, WI and would love to get my hands one of these. Can't beat $250!
Why would AT&T bother spending the money to ship them all over the country? They know that they'll sell out no matter where they decide to sell them...
@cybergypsy
Did you have to sign a contract? I was at an AT&T store today, and they told me that they didn't get the refurbished iPhones so far, but they would anyway just be sold to people that sign the 2 year contract in the store. That won't work for me, cause I'll leave the US in a few months...
i got one today in marylandsucks that they need you to sign a 2yrs contract.
No just walked out with the phones.......@cybergypsy

I think your store must have sold them to you incorrectly. I would think for that price, you have to sign up with them.
How is this going to stop resellers from buying them up and unlocking them to sell at a premium?
True I suppose, but why do the coasts always get the love? I think the midwest has a shortage of iPhone usersthis could help counter that!
