I was browsing around in Apple's refurbished store and noticed that the intel Core 2 Duo cost more than the i7. Curiously I was wondering why. Does anyone know? What am I missing?

Had a higher RRP, simple % discount on the refurb store causes this outcome.

You don't think that this is something that apple would over look. I'm not sure its that simple as apple would notice that their older stock isn't moving. I don't think apple is into losing money by allowing older stock to depreciate while failing to purge stock.

Most likely the C2D had a higher starting price and they haven't discounted it enough yet.

That i7 has a SSD too.

Microcenter is still selling these 17" @ $1599. Amazon still sells them @ $2194.
