Greetings, I hope everyone's well.

I've been using an early 2011 MBP for about 15 years now, even with the dead dGPU. It still functions but well, it's an almost 15 year old device so it's time to give it a rest.

I recently moved to the EU and I'm looking into finally replacing it — thing is, I don't actually need a brand new device, so any refurbished M-series Pro or Air would do the trick. Any trustworthy refurbished seller that you can recommend?

Which one would you recommend to be the "sweet" spot right now in terms of longevity. I mostly do writing and the ocassional image and video editing on my desktop (nothing too extreme, mostly 1080 or even 4K at most). You reckon I'd be fine with an Air or might as well go with a Pro?

Thanks in advance, sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, it's been a while.

Check out Apple's official Certified Refurbished store - two out of my three Macs were from there. Visually the only difference from a new one is they come in plain packaging rather than the designed store packaging. 👍

There isn't anything to be refurbished. When a company claims to sell refurbished Macs it only means they clean all fingerprints off the keys & screen plus run diagnostics.

Over the past few decades I have bought Macs new from Apple, bought refurbished Macs new from Apple but mostly bought used from eBay. The two machines I had a problems with were a MBP bought new from Apple that had a swollen battery they replaced for free out of warranty & a 12" MacBook bought new from Apple that had a display replaced under warranty. None of the MBPs & MBAs I bought from eBay ever had a problem. The current MBAs have a great keyboard that doesn't seem to fail unlike some previous Apple keyboards & are overall very reliable. I wouldn't have any qualms about buying another used MBA from eBay
