Depends on who's refurbishing. Personally I wouldn't buy a refurb from anyone but Apple even if it cost a little more.

I've never seen them able to be stacked. I actually waited last year before buying a MBP for my daughter to see exactly that. On Black Friday they essentially dropped the price of the machine to exactly what the EDU discount was ($100 off)

I think right this minute MacMall is about the low price. I'd keep an eye on them or Microcenter personally.
