It seems like the Mac Pro category in the refurbished section of the Apple Store US has been grayed out for quite a while, or I just keep missing any inventory.

Are there ever refurbished nMPs in there?

I'm going to assume most people who buy these don't do it on whim so less likely to return. Add the part where I've never seen one fail, probably doesn't improve the refurbished situation.

Anyone Seen the classic ones lately? There Direct Links don't work anymore either..This is probably the official end of the classic mac pro on the apple website and soon will be flooded with trash cans.

Flooded? Who has the cash to buy one of these and then dumps it after a year?

Exactly, these bad boys are built to last. Have always been super satisfied with my Mac Pros.

by flooded i mean the refurbished store will have many configurations not because people dumped em but because people couldn't afford them and returned them.

It's... possible, I guess? I would think anything more likely would be people who returned theirs due to technical issues and just decided not to get a replacement.

Like I said earlier, I don't see the Mac Pro being something people go up and say, "Gee, I can't afford this, but I want one anyway!" kind of computer. MacBook Pro, yes people do this, but last time I walk to a few Apple Stores, they say they barely move two to three units a day. It's simply not a mover product.

Refurbs can also be display units as i know. But those would be rare i guess.

    Strange ...

There were SO many people complaining about strange noises coming from their NMP that I assumed that there would be lots of refurbs by new.

I'd hardly say there have been "countless" based on how quickly they go out of stock when they show up... and I really doubt it has anything to do with cost and returning them. When you shell out the kind of money Professionals do, they sort of expect perfection and a rock solid computer for making money. Any hiccups they want resolved ASAP (which usually means a brand new computer rather than waiting for a repair).
