So I'm looking to buy this refurbished macbook air from apple.com

    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC965LL/A#overview

It was released this past July. What are your guys' thoughts on refurbished macbooks? Is this a good deal for this model? Can I use my student discount to get the price lower?

    thanks guys for the help!

Apple Certified Refurbished Products are a great deal, as most who have ever bought one will tell you.
    No.

And I assume that you really can't get a better deal on refurb products, correct? Thanks for the info!!

Correct. No other discounts apply, and Apple refurbs are only available from the Apple refurb store.

    Other vendors to look at

Are MacMall.com and Microcenter. They don't have Apple refurbs but they often have older computers (less than 1 year) that were left over stock that are sold for a discount. It could be this is only for the MacBookPro 13"?
