I have a 15" Macbook Pro I bought a year ago and I'd like to ... well... refurbish the case/pan myself. I love the MBP but the thing dents like a tin can. Rather than taking it all apart myself and try to bend and realign the casing myself, I was wondering if there was a service out there that could do this for me. Any thoughts? There's no cracks or anything but the bottom pan is .. misaligned. Thanks very much!
That is crazy expensive and seems to do little in way of fixing the dents the OP is inquiring about. It was still a cool website to take a quick look at. Here are a few I found: http://www.welovemacs.com/ma610llcase.html http://www.dttservice.com/macbookpro.html
You have to be pretty reckless to have dents in the casing. I've seen MBP that were dropped (onto carpet), banged, and step on (not recommended) with no visible damage. Translation = the MBP case is pretty strong, to damage it, you are not treating it right. You need to get a real laptop bag next time. It protects against most type of damage. It's unlikely you can bent the metal back into shape and have it look like it's undamaged, unless you are an expert car ding-repair person. You might want to see if you can buy a new casing from companies such as ifixit.com
