Hello, I've done a few searches on the forum and in google and I haven't really found a clear answer for putting large PDF files (like textbooks about 400 MB) onto the iPhone without jailbreaking it.

I also do not want to pay for any apps to do this either. Is there a solution? I'm using an iPhone 3GS if that helps. Thanks.

Sarcasmville.
Can't you just break up the textbook into the chapters?

And most file managers that put stuff on the iPhone are paid-for, there aren't any I know that are free that aren't available via JB.

second vote for good reader...
i have all my company manuals on my phone, about a gig worth of 2 PDFs, and several other PDFs that are 500 meg plus, totally searchable too.

good reader works well, you can download the docs into the phone directly from the web or by browser link on your home wifi.
