A few things I would like to see in the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio...

Backlit keys...! I don't really think this needs any explanation, not everyone has excellent night vision...

We all can see that the keyboard is facing outwards when the cover is flipped all the way back (tablet-mode), if they are not already present (wishful thinking probably, but something that should be there), some sensors that turn off the keyboard when fully flipped around would be nice...

Agreed. No back"it keys is a huge miss.

Nit being able to fold away keyboard neatly or Stan without showing keyboard is a bummer too.

Uh, why do you need to look at the keyboard? ;)

I've always thought backlit keyboards look cool, and I can see those who can't touch-type wanting one, but if they ever go that route you better be able to turn it off to save battery life.

Yeah--I kind of agree there. I had a backlit keyboard for my 10.5" and never looked at it other than to show people how you could change the colors of the backlighting. I have been touch typing since freshman year of high school, so I don't ever need to hunt and peck while typing.

Backlit keys are pointless I think for those, like myself, who can type without looking at the keys...

I 'learned' to touch type in the early 1980's, on an IBM electric...

Got to where the teacher was taping a sheet of paper across the keyboard & I was always lifting the paper to peek underneath...

Needless to say, I am shitte at touch typing...

And, as I stated originally, some of us are older & do not have the best of night vision... I like a dark room. but I like to see the keys, so I desire backlighting...

I touch type just fine without looking at the keys. I’m a writer so I’m typing all day most days. But if I’m typing in a darkened room, the backlighting is an almost subconscious reminder of where the keys are, so if I’ve taken my hands away while I think, I can easily put them back in the correct spot. I suspect this is helpful for me as I switch keyboards and devices a lot—MBP to MBA to iPad with Keys-to-go (which isn’t backlit) to iPad with Apple Keyboard to Surface Pro—and the keys aren’t in the same place or the same size on all these keyboards.

That said, I generally don’t work in the dark.

This is exactly write, but you could accomplish the same end without fully backlit keys but maybe a kind of backlit outline of the keyboard
