Oh I can totally live with a blemish. I totally regretted taking it back after the replacement had a yellow screen... It was my gf that convinced me. She was like well you paid for a new iPad and it was damaged out of the box. Go get a replacement. At the time I didn't even know about the screen issues...

Just curious, if you did the IR Marco test on it...

It seems that most of the "even white" displays (not all) have a "technical limitation" and have some Image Retention, but nearly not noticible and not disturbing during normal use...

If you didn't did the test yet, don't do it... No need to search for a non-issue...

So an update:

I have for the past few days tried 5 more rMinis and 3 of them had ir + uneven screens and 2 were without ir but had dead pixels, a bit of light leakage and dust under the screen.

I can't wrap my wrap around how insane this is. Passing on quality control to the consumer. Just great.

So I asked for a refund and tried the Air; 40% of the screen is urine-yellow and the rest is white and 3 dead pixels adorn this magnificent screen as well. What kind of quality control is this if there even exists one?

Sigh... I don't even think there are words to express how disgusted I feel with this company.

Sorry for ranting guys... I hope you have better luck than me with your iPads.

wow! So how many rMini did you tried in all?

My rMini has a nearly perfect screen. But it has some IR, though hardly visible in my real life use. I was debating to exchange or not, but when I read your experience... I've 99% chance to get a worst one!

The screen problem arises from Apple's obsession with suing Samsung out of business. Ironically, Samsung has always made the best screens. The lawsuit forced Apple to bring on LG as a vendor and their screens have a lot of problems. It's just not Apple products with this problem, but other vendors who use LG screens. But, hopefully if you wait a short bit the problem will go away as Apple has contracted to buy screens from Sharp and Samsung again.
