I should have gotten silver, something other than black for the first time in my life!

My order is stuck in processing and it looks like I can't cancel or edit it. Advice?

Truthfully if I were you I would get the black and then trade with someone. Seems like a lot of people went for silver simply because they thought demand would be less. Here in Canada wait times are 6 weeks so I don’t think cancelling in an option

I'm a silver person so black wasn't an option for me. Even during the iPhone 7 days when the black was clearly better looking than silver I couldn't go for it. I'm sure once you get the black iPhone X you'll be happy with it regardless and you'll end up sticking with it. I wouldn't cancel it. I would get it then return it to the store if you feel that strongly after you've had it in your hands a few days.

Go to your local Apple Store on launch day with your sealed phone and ask people if they want to swap.

Get the phone first, maybe do something creative with a case (then the color isn't as significant), but all the being said, if you *really* want a different color, there's probably someone who wanted black vs. silver, maybe a trade.

I thought about silver this year coming from many years of black since it finally has a black front, but that shiny bright chrome band around would bug me. Im not a chrome/shiny thing type of person, even on my cars.

They all look the same once the case is on anyway... unless you don't plan on buying one.

To me color is really irrelevant this time. Both are back in front. I'm going to case the X so I'll never see the back - Otterbox Symmetry arriving Sunday.

If you see the prices for repair I don't know why anyone would carry it naked. Even with AC you only get two damage events then it's full boat. Seems the X might be a lot more fragile than any previous iPhone given the repair charges.

I ordered silver because I am sick of black. I had one of the generations in White and really enjoyed it. I said at last launch if they ever came out with a gloss white option, i would buy it in a heartbeat! From all the pics I saw, the back looks white to me. Plus the fact that there is no white on the screen/bezel anymore was an added bonus. Now it wont stick out like a store thumb

Seems a lot of people here are sick of black, which if funny because the iPhone X will be my first black iPhone (had the white 3GS and 4S, and gold 6 Plus). I just thought the combination of the white back and chrome-textured bezel that the white/silver one looks a bit cheap, probably because of an association with generic Android phones. Will be interested to see which capacities and colors were most popular.

Use a case or skin to change it :)!

I think the silver band will be more prone to visible scratches than the gray. So I would stay with black.

as long as neither color turns pink under certain conditions, you cannot go wrong with mostly light black gray, and mostly light gray silver.

I think silver is the best option IMO - I always wanted it before but hated the front of the phone with the black screen surrounded by white. As that's not an option now, the silver on the back and stainless steel shows the phone off better I think. Plus although the black is harder wearing, at least the silver can be polished out whereas the black can't

Is the stainless frame the same as the Apple Watch in the normal stainless “color” and the stainless black?

Given the high price of these things, get the color you want, so go and cancel the existing order.
