I waited until launch day to see what the new iMac was going to look like.

I decided the beautiful Retina 27" iMac was just a little to much computer for me and since this is my FIRST iMac decided to go with the late 2013 (bugs worked out) 27" iMac, i5, 16gb, 1TB Fusion, and the 2gb graphics.

I don't do anything fancy besides play with some photo's and play a game here or there. It's just an upgrade from my college days HP laptop...that's dead. I'm calling it our "Home Command Center" and therefor was justifiable.

I'm reading about everyone's RETINA'S already shipped!!! Mega jealous over here.

I ordered mine at 6 pm on October 16. Why hasn't my measly model shipped yet??

*whine fest* I'm dying from anticipation. I want the shininess in my house!!

Did anyone else decide against the Retina and order the regular 27"?? If so, has yours shipped??

Thanks for listening to this iMac Newb!!

Maybe it's giving you a chance to change your order and not pay the Apple tax on your RAM. If you're not looking to go higher than 16 GB you can get 4 GB x 2 of Crucial from Amazon for $72 instead of $200.

I don't mind. I want it all ready to go when I get it. I'm not a fan of modifying things myself. I'll spend the "apple tax" and let it come done and ready to go!

I have no idea on why it's being delayed. It could be due to the high Retina demand. I know everyone is getting their shipment notifications and my Retina is still sitting in Processing Items. I thought it might be because I ordered mine with the VESA mount. Yours looks like a fairly standard order though, you might give them a call and see what's going on.

Not being in the need for the Retina version, I ordered a refurb 27 with a little higher specs. Something that will allow my family and I to use for the next few years for light gaming, reports, web stuff, etc. Then I can see where we are with this whole 5k stuff.

Dont read too much into the hype of what other people are doing.
Remember its your needs and money, not theirs.

Mine was a refub order on the 16th, shipped and should be delivered this Wed.
