Can someone with a regular M4 Mac Mini, NOT the Pro model, confirm how many thunderbolt busses it has?
I believe it should have 3 (Bus 0, Bus 1, Bus 2) but I'd like to confirm before pulling the trigger on the regular NOT Pro model.

You can confirm the number of Thunderbolt buses in your Mac by viewing the System Report window
(select About This Mac in the Apple menu and then click the System Report… button).
Then click on Thunderbolt in the column on the left.

Thank you

Is this what you need?

Yeah I also see 0,1,3 (no 2).

I see 1,2,3 on my m1 MBP
Well, the M4 chip almost certainly has 4 TB controllers, since the iMac has 4 TB ports, so it may be luck of the draw which 3 numbers you get.

Perhaps they’re using M4 chips with one dead controller to make Minis? Or using the 4th port to drive something else (HDMI?)

I'm confused about controllers vs busses, are they the same? Are you saying the Imac has 4 busses?

I thought the only Apple device with 4 or more Thunderbolt busses would be the Mac Studio/Pro.
Would be interesting to see the system Thunderbolt report on the M4 Imac with 4 ports.

Well, "bus" and "controller" don't necessarily mean the same thing in general, but on Apple Silicon Macs it's generally been one bus/controller per port. With the Intel Macs, each TB controller drove two ports, but with Apple Silicon, AFAIK each port has it's own controller/bus.

Yes, it would be interesting to see the system report from a 4 TB port iMac.
