Hey everyone, I need to reinstall ichat after i uninstalled it from my 10.5.5 macbook (black) with OS X (panther). I DO NOT have my cd's, lost them somewhere and I can't find any instructions online on how to reinstall my ichat without the CD. Someone please help!

whichever OS came with the black macbook?? either way, there is absolutely NO WAY to install ichat again without the CD?

There's more than one black macbook. Mine ran Tiger when I got it, later versions run Leopard. Click the Apple menu, click About This Mac..., and if it says 10.4.x then you're running Tiger, if it says 10.5.x then you're running Leopard.

Note that the x in 10.4.x and 10.5.x is a variable that can be any number, depending on how well you keep up with your updates.

All you need is the app. The app can only be legally installed from the CD/DVD. You could install a different IM client (Adium etc.), but only if you aren't using an iChat specific feature. If you have a friend with a mac they can probably help you out. Thumb drive. 'nuf said.

yes, it's OS leopard. Is there a way to do it WITHOUT the CD??

does it have to be the same OS cd that i had, or can it be for a different leopard? For instance, i have a friend that got the NEW macbook, can i use their cd??

does anyone actually have the app they can e-mail me?? all my friends are PC users -_-

so the ichat version on his leopard 10.5.6 will work for the ichat on my 10.5.5? And i just need to use Pacifist to get it off the CD? Sorry, i'm a noob with macs =p

Yes you can do that but why not just put his iChat app on a zip drive and transfer it to your computer? Seems easier to me...
