True. They must mean Tiger. Unless there's an old black powerbook out there that can run OS X...

There's more than one black macbook. Mine ran Tiger when I got it, later versions run Leopard. Click the Apple menu, click About This Mac..., and if it says 10.4.x then you're running Tiger, if it says 10.5.x then you're running Leopard.

Note that the x in 10.4.x and 10.5.x is a variable that can be any number, depending on how well you keep up with your updates.

All you need is the app. The app can only be legally installed from the CD/DVD. You could install a different IM client (Adium etc.), but only if you aren't using an iChat specific feature. If you have a friend with a mac they can probably help you out. Thumb drive. 'nuf said.

Yes you can do that but why not just put his iChat app on a zip drive and transfer it to your computer? Seems easier to me...

so i extracted his ichat.app using pacifist, and moved it to my comp. But when i double click on it, nothing happens. Am i supposed to move a whole folder? Is there .dmg or something? I tried following the steps on http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1486891&tstart=0 using the hard way and it's not doing anything. Help please!
