Reinstall original cinema display stand

I had the VESA mount kit on my 27" Cinema display, and I had it mounted on a stand. I would like to take the VESA kit off and put it back to the factory condition.

I have the original stand screwed back on, but I'm not able to return the stand to it's natural position, such that the screws are hidden. Something is preventing it, and I feel that if I force it harder it will break something or bend the metal.

Does anyone know what the trick is? I know how to install the VESA mount and I know there are many videos showing it. I need the reverse instructions, and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks.

All right, I figured it out. One has to push the latch back in with the card that came with the kit. The latch is near the opening, and the card doesn't have to go in as deep as I thought.
