wyatt23 macrumors 6502a Original poster Jun 21, 2007 #1 I need to reinstall and wipe my harddrive in my iBook to send it out tomorrow in a trade. i tried to boot from a DVD but there seems to be a password on the computer. i need to reinstall my system.... how do i go about doing this?

GimmeSlack12 macrumors 603 Jun 22, 2007 #2 Restart the computer, hold down "c" and when the computer loads from the DVD then you can reset the password and reinstall the system.

wyatt23 macrumors 6502a Original poster Jun 22, 2007 #3 ha, i'm with you on that... i made another thread detailing my problem more. not that simple, my friend. there is a password on my open firmware that i don't know. so no apple boot commands will work.

Click to expand... isnt' the default password "admin"? Look in the manual and it tells you what it is.
