Reinstalling Itunes > Media in another HD

Hi there,

I have a backup of my Itunes directory.

I plan to reinstall (bought a SSD), but I'd like the media files to be stored in my second "storage" hard drive.

Could you please tell me the process to do so?

I think all I did in the same situation was to copy the iTunes folder to the 2nd HD, then hold down Option as I started iTunes. It asks for your library location.

After that it defaults to the same library unless you hold down Option at startup again

Been running with my main iTunes library (~100GB of music etc) on the network at home for years now

So you end up with 2 itunes folders? One on the main disk and a second one on the storage?

Or by saying

copy the iTunes folder to the 2nd HD

you meant just the "media" folder?

If not, can the first Itunes Folder on the SSD be deleted afterwards?
