Hello forum

I am trying to setup and use my future Mac without AppleID (but I am not aware of the consequences about that).

Is it possible to reinstall MacOS on a new SSD or HD without such an AppleID? How (e.g. is a Boot-DVD required)?

Thank you!

You can also install macOS from a bootable USB thumb drive without an Apple ID.

Once the operating system has been installed, when you run the system the first time, you will be prompted to provide your Apple ID. You can skip this. I have done this many times before over the years.

Note that there is no requirement to use Apple ID for basic functionality. There is always the opportunity to set up Apple ID later.
