A while ago, I got rid of a bunch of apps on my iBook in an attempt to free up HD space. I've decided that I'd like to get some of these apps back, especially the OS X Dictionary app. How would I do this? I'm guessing I'd have to use the install discs that came with my computer, but how exactly is this done?

Also, when I do get the Dictionary installed again, will it be the latest version? I'm pretty sure it got updated a time or two since 10.4.2 (the version of OS X on my install discs). If it's not the latest version, how would I update it? Thanks.

Pacifist lets you open up the .pkg files on the installer CD and extract only the programs you want. as i've never used it, i can't tell you how to work it.

you could also get someone else with a Mac to give you the application simply by using a USB drive or e-mailing it to you (it's only 1.4MB on my machine).

the latest version is 1.0.1; i'm running 10.4.8.
