Hi there,

I succesfully installed Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp on my macbook pro (late 2011) in the past. Now I want a clean install and re-install windows. I have windows on disk and the latest support software on a USB drive.

Is it possible to:

- Insert the Windows installation disk, start the installation (boot/alt), select/format the (already existing) bootcamp partition during installation and install Apple's Support software from drive when finished?

Or do I need to:

- Start Bootcamp Assistent, delete Windows and its partition and start all over?

I actually prefer the first option because the partition is already in place with the right amount of space, but I don't want to mess it up. Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

yes, why not? I've done that (years ago), problem free. You will need to download the bootcamp drivers and install them afterwards but you can reinstall windows
