I don't think looks should be as much a factor as catching the essence of the character . if they capture a strong essence of Steve Jobs then resembling will be just fine. I didn't feel or see any characteristics of Steve Jobs in The clips I've seen. it was just Kutcher picking up a pay check .

Being a doppelganger is not enough

If looking exactly like someone was the key to a great performance, script, story, etc., Hollywood would be a very different place. Instead, we have some newbie producer jumping on the death of public figure as a gimmick to leverage themselves into the movie business. Casting Kutcher is the only bait they have to sucker an audience into a theater (or streaming download)-- Kutcher sucks and you WILL be disappointed.

Some of you care way too much to get so hung up on who portrays Jobs.

Ironically, you are the ones who will go see it – at least once – cuz it will kill you inside if don't.

Ashton is the best look-a-like actor. For me, that makes it all the better.

If you want a good actor, call Denzel. He would be a perfect fit.

They could have called the movie "Dude where's my iPod" or "That Apple Movie". The fact remains, hate his acting all you like, he still gets to do with deed with Mila Kunis :D

And if it turns about to be a good movie, we'll all just pretend this thread doesn't exist.

he does not "look" like Steve Jobs anyway...

Ummm to the average person they would more than likely have to take a triple take to tell the difference when Ashton is in character. Hell theirs even a few released that even some hardcore Apple fans said "ok he does look pretty much like him in character."

All this focus on Kootchner or whoever, it may miss the point. According to The Woz, this movie is all bullpuckey. It wouldn't matter if they raised Jobs from the dead to play himself.

Just saying: Woz has said that some things in the movie didn't happen at all like that and that Jobs really didn't want this. Though when I read the Steve Jobs Biography by Walter Isaacson it said the opposite of what Woz said happened.

I can guarantee you, with 100% certainty, beyond all doubt, categorically, that I would not pay to see this movie under any circumstances. Not for free, either.

Ever.

At no time.

And if not seeing Ashton Kutcher in a movie would "kill me inside", I for one, just speaking for myself, would quietly sit in a warm bath and open my veins.

Reviews for the film were mixed, though Kutcher's performance was praised.

That's why I don't believe most movie critics. The few I know who have seen the movie say Kutcher was a terrible Jobs. I'll probably watch the movie once just to say I have watched it. And hope the experience does make my eyes and ears bleed too much.

Noah Wyle's Jobs was so not perfect. Not even close. But way way way way way way way way (you get the point) better then Kutcher's Jobs.

"Appearing on BBC Breakfast, Wyle said that he would give his "high teeth" to play Jobs a second time, and it would be his "dream job".

Wyle wanted to do it. And the role was there. He should have gotten it. But yeah some people just have no idea how to cast the right people for a role.

1. They would have fit the role to suit Wyle's age.
2. Would have been better then Kutcher by a ton.
3. I do get your point though.
