Some apps rely on both numbers...
hmm... as I said I don't know how to change it back as I no longer have the Lion theme to refer to. However My apps obviously aren't effected by this atleast not that I can tell.

You would go to System/Library/CoreServices and edit SystemVersion.plist back to the original if you chose to do so.
SWEET! Thanks!
EDIT: I wonder if this would work on Tiger so I can install apps requiring Leopard?...
You can spoof the system version number in any version of OS X but the reason that apps require Leopard usually has to do with an underlying Leopard framework. That is not always the case but you should research before making changes for an app that could just be more trouble than it is worth.
Cool, thanks. Now if only Windows was that easy, than I could revive my Win2k install.
EDIT: Has anyone tried spoofing the version number of Panther to be detected as Tiger to install TenFourFox?
No. TenFourFox relies on certain features and frameworks that are only in Tiger and Leopard.
I wonder if i can get my netis wifi USB adaptor to work on panther if i spoof it as tiger? hmm if only i had a Panther disc and the ambition to test that...
What good would it do as you would be limited to basic network access as most any Panther compatible browser will struggle to load even the most simplest of web pages...
I would just stick with Tiger for that task.it wouldnt be to use the internet... it would share the internet connection with the whole house...
