I did a few searches but couldn't find anything... I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology, though :/

I'm wondering if there's any way to remap the F9, F10 and F11 keys on an older PowerBook to:

F9 - Previous Track
F10 - Play/Pause
F11 - Next Track

... for iTunes. I don't really use Expose, so I'd rather have those keys actually do something for me :p I went into the keyboard setup in System Preferences, but couldn't really find anything in way of remapping there. :/

Thanks, all :)

you could enable "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in keyboard preferences and then use iTunes controllers like QuickSilver (free) or CoverSutra (shareware).

i use CoverSutra to map F14-F16 on my white Apple Pro Keyboard for previous/rewind-play/pause-next/fast forward like the new Apple keyboards. to make it work after i reboot you have to add CoverSutra as a login item… same for QuickSilver.
