So far iOS 10 has killed slide to Unlock no reason for that now it's Press Home Button I use my Knuckle so Apple doesn't record my finger print even though I deliberately avoid TouchID.

And ruined the Key Typing sound when using the Screen keys they sound so horrible. But When you connect a Smart Keyboard they give you a whole different set of Typing Sounds which sound like the old ones and way better. A subtle way to force you to buy a Smart Keyboard. Just make the Typing sound little horns each time you type unless you buy a $160 accessory ok.

Anyone know a way to fix the onscreen keyboard Typing sounds?

I'm curious about the changes as well...

I let my case lock/unlock my iPad and don't use the screen to type with the volume on. Still waiting to really see what the new advantages are.

So far all I have seen besides the issues posted above is so jerkiness that was not there when browsing YouTube and more. Battery drain since there's so much running in the background now. And still learning how to disable things or get them back Constant News feeds I have no idea how to get rid of them running in the background just 1 side away arregh

Yeah... Apple has a giant secret database with all of our fingerprints, which they will use for identity theft? Fraud? Sell to the highest bidder? Sounds like a valid business plan for one of the most successful and publicly scrutinized companies in history.

There was nothing Pro in iPad Pro. They use Pro as marketing term and many got sucked into it.

I am still rocking iPad Air 2 which is doing very well on iOS 10.

I don't see any useful improvements in iOS 10 for iPad.

Who cares what they call it as long as you want/need the upgraded features. I have two "Pro" devices that I got because of features and didn't get sucked into anything.

I bought the Pro thinking iOS 10 was going to be a huge update. One year later, I'm disappointed.
Yeah I'll admit that I bought the 12.9 pro thinking that iOS 10 would bring about a lot of improvements to it. It is rather disappointing to see that they still haven't added a more robust and intuitive app switcher for split screen. That should have been done a long time ago.

I have heard through the rumor mill that apple is indeed releasing some decent updates to the ipads in their 10.X release. I have seen ipad features added in .1, .2, or .3 releases in the past so we'll see.

I will say that I am very happy with the 12.9 pro. It'd just be nice to see it get some TLC.

For me it was really a stupid change. I don't use TouchID or password to unlock my device (no sensitive data in it and I only use at home), and when the alarm goes off, now I have to remind myself to press the ON/OFF button to unlock the iPAD (if the "Smart Cover" is closed), otherwise the only way is a) to press the Home button, or b) to slide to the left and click in one the widgets.

The same rumor mill that led you to believe iOS 10 would somehow make the iPad Pro "Pro"?

What do you do in public where your fingers leave imprints on most everything they touch? And then there's the fact that as cameras continue to improve images of your iris will get captured in more and more detail in public.

I'm genuinely curious. I'm concerned about privacy myself, but have just about given up on maintaining control of biometrics. How long until we unlock our phones with a tiny DNA sample (from oils, sweat or skin cells)?

There isn't much new in ios10 that is iPad-specific other than the split-window improvement.

Not new news...and yes, it sucks.

Blame Apple.

And it removes the option to undock the virtual keyboard so it stays stuck on the bottom of the screen in portrait view and makes it extremely uncomfortable to hold with two hands while using it. Bad enough that they didn't put split keyboards in like the other iPads but I really hope this is fixed soon...

This is the sole reason I've actually started using my iPads in landscape a lot more. I'd say I probably use then in landscape more than portrait now, whereas before the update I'd use an iPad in portrait 99% of the time (excluding typing and watching videos).

The two Safari Windows is so handy.

Hopefully, iOS 10.1 will bring some new iPad features. We might be due for one more Apple event to hopefully unveil new Macs and iPads and Apple might use subsequent software updates to achieve this.

I Never never never never upgrade IOS on my ipad becUse of battery drain. My ipad pro 9.7 will remain with ios 9.1

Even if you don't intend to update to iOS 10 (and I'll reserve my opinion on that) it would be prudent to update to the last release of iOS 9. It's typically the fastest, most bug-free and definitely the most secure release of any given iOS version.

Any information on this "battery drain" that everyone claims happens with each new iOS update any proof of this in iOS 10 ?

I feel like I am answering my own three but Pressing The Home Button is fine
And Safari and YouTube work better now. And ProTube is worth every penny to get rid of YouTube Ads.

I suspect three things happen

1) the usual indexing and so on. For ios 10 add the Memories to that. That usually dies down in a day or so
2) genuine bugs and/or specific peculiarities in in individual setup that mean a) doesn't go away quickly or at all without intervention
3 people use their device much more than usual to play with the new os, not realising that this has a dramatic affect on battery life

My $0.02
