Is anyone else having this issue? When I have a reminder set to alert me at a day/time, the notification does not go to the Lock Screen, just the notification screen. So, unless I actually swipe up on the Lock Screen I will never see the notification/alert for the Reminder. I submitted feedback, but is anyone else noticing this? Obviously, I have Reminder notifications set to show on the Lock Screen. I notice other apps seem to do this as well. Messages seems to work normally.

Edit: want to clarify this is happening for all app notifications other than Messages, as far as I can tell.

Edit2: Yeah, so notably, Messages works perfectly. Imagine your message notifications NOT going to your Lock Screen.

Edit3: Update in comments.

This morning I woke up to three notifications: messages, Bank of America and one more. They are seen on the Lock Screen. I unlock the phone and go to the Home Screen then lock the phone and view the Lock Screen again. All notifications are now only in the Notification Center and not visible on the Lock Screen. This is a regular thing now. Really frustrating.

And I just had a reminder notification that never appeared on the Lock Screen, only on the notification screen.

I think it's always been that way...isn't that normal behavior? I'll occasionally unlock my phone and go to the Home Screen just to clear out the new set of Lock Screen notifications I haven't seen since the last time I did it. They'll still be in the Notification Center to act on later.

I'm still on iOS 15 and just tried it now to make sure... I had multiple notifications from several apps on my Lock Screen. I unlocked the phone, went to the Home Screen, and locked it again. They're no longer on my Lock Screen (which I'd expect), but are still in my Notification Center.

I'm not crazy. I specifically have left Reminders on the Lock Screen in order to see it later. Then I see it (again on the Lock Screen) and then I remember the thing I'm supposed to do. That is impossible now. Once I see it once, it's forever off the Lock Screen and I have to remember to check the Notification Center.

The way they've worked before is exactly they way they currently work for messages. The message notification stay on the LOCK screen until you make it go away. I have tinkered with all the settings and don't know what else to do, but I cannot say this is the expected behavior - especially given how message notifications still works as it always has and should. There has definitely been a change - I just don't know if there's a setting I'm not seeing; there's a glitch; or if they changed how it works.

I'm on iOS 15 and it clearly states in Settings that Time Sensitive notifications stay on the lockscreen for an hour. Is that different in iOS 16?

No it's the same. I've had that toggled off now, but have played with it on and off and this same issue still persists.

It's the same in iOS 16, and this setting is what I was going to suggest next. Now this setting doesn't necessarily mean that all notifications from that app will stay on the Lock Screen...just those that are flagged as being time sensitive by the developer/app. So for the same app, some can just be regular notifications and leave the Lock Screen, and others can be time sensitive and stay on the Lock Screen. (Time sensitive ones will have 'TIME SENSITIVE' in the header of the notification.)

Thinking about this some more, the whole notification thing seems somewhat confusing.
  • As mentioned before, most of my notifications leave the Lock Screen after going to the Home Screen...including Messages (unlike the OP) even though I have Time Sensitive Notifications turned on. Since it's up to the developer/app to determine if a notification should be time sensitive or not, how does iOS determine if a message should be time sensitive? The contents of the message? Guessing the OP's messages are marked as time sensitive and mine are not, which would explain the different behavior we're seeing with Messages.
  • Reminders does work for me though (in iOS 15 and in iOS 16 on my second device)...however, it stays on my Lock Screen way longer than the one hour it states in the help/info text. I guess it makes sense to keep displaying reminders until action is taken, but I couldn't say for sure if the "one hour" actually works for other apps or not.

I'm seeing the same after testing it, the reminder stays on the lock screen even after an hour has passed despite what the text says, it seems to be independent of that setting. Not sure what's causing the inconsistency.

Weird that is actually working for me. My anniversary reminder stayed on lock until I dismissed. If only my keyboard haptics would ever work :(

Have you tried keeping it on there and seeing at what point is disappears on its own from the Lock Screen? Sometimes they'll stay on the Lock Screen for a while. Sometimes I see it once and that's it - it's gone after 1 time.

I am remembering I have used Reminders to remind me to take meds after surgery in the past. It worked really well because the alert would NOT go off the Lock Screen until I made it go away. Now, that wouldn't work for that purpose. Frustrating.

And why would it disappear after an hour anyway? Especially if it's time sensitive, wouldn't I want to see it? If I don't see it within an hour, I guess I'll never see it? What kind of system is that?

Hmm already dismissed, but I think a birthday one will show soon. I will see how long it keeps showing

I've been following this thread and tried it out on Monday and forgot about it. It's now Thursday and the notification from Monday is still there, even after unlocking the phone multiple times.

It's possible this could be an "it's just you" or isolated issue. I have my own "it's just me" issue that no one else seems to be having. It's interesting, because I'm using a clean install and set up as new from Beta 1, and have been doing OTA updates since then. Apparently something got borked along the way. I will have to do an "Erase all Contents and Settings" sometime to see if the issue clears up. Then I'll know whether I have a bad install (system volume), or corrupted data on the data volume. Glad it's a test device though and will be waiting for the final update on my main device instead of upgrading a little early like I usually do.

I assuming it's beta related. I hope so. Mainly, I just don't want the intended functionality to change.

Many of my notifications from various apps never show up on the Lock Screen and just go straight to notification screen, still.

This is absolutely and infuriating. This still is happening. I have Reminder alerts set up. They will never STAY on my Lock Screen. They will disappear on their on within a few hours, if they EVER appear. I have already done a reset and restore from back up. There's noting else to do but a reset and NOT restore, which, give me a break I should not have to do that.

Are others having this issue still?
