Reminders quick entry

Is there a good way to setup quick entry (as in OmniFocus and Things) for the Reminders app? I've tried creating a "New Reminder" service and assigning it a global shortcut, but it only works within certain applications.

It would be nice to have the ability to create a reminder from the notification window like you can with a tweet.

It even works when Reminders is not running!

As a current OmniFocus addict, I am testing out Reminders as a long term replacement. As much as I love OF, I really want item-by-item location reminders and 3rd party app integration, both of which Reminders offers.
