I just recently set up an Airport Extreme Base station at my house and am trying to figure out how to set up remote access to my external hard drive through the base station. I have an iMac and the house and a MacBook Pro that I'll be using. I was going to try to set it up through MobileMe's Back to My Mac but now Mobile me is going away some I'm not sure what I should do.

    Any suggestions?

Im accessing my HD attached to Airport Extreme, for the moment, using the afp protocol. Simply, you have to know what is your IP address asking in the website:http://www.whatismyip.com/ and then when you are out of home in Finder you go to "Conect to server, write afp://xxxxxxxx (the IP you get). You will be asked for your user name and password to access your HD and that is all.
The problem is when you have (as mine) a dynamic IP that changes all the time. You will need a static IP from your ISP.
I hope it helps your for the moment
