Hi guys, I have the ATV remote app for my iPhone and iPad.

The ipad app works fine but the iPhone app has now stopped working. I removed the app on ATV and deleted the app on the phone and reinstalled and tried to reconnect but when I try and connect all it does is spin the wheel.

Anything i I can do to make it work again?

Yup. And a reinstall of the app too. Still no luck. It used to work perfect. I think it’s since I updated to the latest ATV FW.

I am not sure if this helps, but I was having all sorts of Remote App issues on my iPhone SE on iOS 10. My old iPhone worked fine, which was a 6s Plus, but after getting the iPhone SE, the Remote App would give me problems.

But, only on my ATV4, as all my ATV3s worked fine with the Remote App. The only way I could get it to work, is if I restart both the ATV4 and the iPhone. It would work for a day, then the ATV4 would not show up on the app, but the other ATVs would.

I looked on the app store, and saw that there was a different remote app, I downloaded it, which was the updated app that came out not too long ago.

Now, I have two remote apps on my iPhone, the old version and the new one. I am not sure why one wasn't replaced by the other.

I am not sure if this helps at all.

Thanks Vertical Smile. I looked on the App store and now there seems to be only one Apple TV remote app.

I reinstalled it again and still no luck. Ive also spoken with apple who wanted me to update to iOS 11, which i do not want to do as Im jailbroken. Oh well, guess i can live without the remote app but most definitely cannot live without jailbreak :)

I also don't want to update to iOS11. If I couldn't get it to work using iOS 10, then wasn't going to bother.

I am not sure why I was able to keep the old app and the new app at the same time. Maybe it is another iOS glitch

For some reason glitches is all I seem to be trying to resolve on my Apple devices recently.

Today I'm having security issues. Unable to receive 2 factor authentication codes on my iPhone. Also unable to get into Security & Password on the iPhone. Apparently it cannot connect to iCloud!

Naughty boy Scouser for jailbreaking! Not something that i'd ever recommend! BTW iOS11 is superb now! I waited until 11.3 to update the SE and it's amazing - as fast as day one on iOS9 and perfect on my X!!! With Apple, it's always a good idea to upgrade to the latest OS simply for security enhancements!

Mate, really, I cannot live with the standard iOS. I have a tweak on my phone called Consolidation. It groups all your notifications - mail, whatsapp, gmail etc. Then you have icons for each at the top of the screen. You click on which ever group you want to see. Perfect. On standard iOS its very easy to miss important notifications as there really isn't a logical way of prioritising them.

I also like that I can have icons at the top of the screen for mail, whatsapp etc.

I also like the fact that I can swipe down to go to home screen (like the X). Double tap to lock etc

I also like the 5 row of icons.

I also like..... you get my point ;):)

Haha oh my gosh Mr Scouser :)
Very impressive with notifications :) I take one week to reply to an iMessage or a WhatsApp :) :) :) - My iPhone is my music player and camera - if someone needs me, they can visit me :) :) :) :) :) (I often leave it in flight mode for days without realising :) :) :)
