I just noticed today that the remote app doesn't display TV shows in proper order. The shows I've purchased from the iTunes store are in the correct order (more or less) because it seems to display them in order of release date. However, the TV shows I've ripped from my DVD collection display in alphabetical order instead of episode number. This makes it difficult to navigate through Scrubs, for example, because the name of each episode begins with "My..."

Make sure they are classified as TV Shows and that the episode numbers are properly entered in the properties of each video.

Of course. Always have been. For years. Been watching them for over a year on my tv. Trust me, there's no problem with my organization. I'm a little obsessive about it.

I was just pointing out the very inefficient way the Remote app displays TV shows. Based on what I can tell, the Remote app displays them in order of release date as first priority, then alphabetical order as a second priority.

I came to this conclusion because most of my iTunes purchases are in the correct order, except for in Burn Notice Season One there are two episodes out of order. These two episodes have the exact same release date, and so are listed alphabetically with respect to each other, which puts them out of proper sequential order.

... And, of course, all my DVD ripped TV shows are listed alphabetically only. They are separated by season, so that helps a little, but within any given season they are not in sequential order.
